I visited L&L Andersonville last weekend for brunch with 2 good friends. I've been here in the past but not in a few years. The staff is very friendly & accommodating. Our server was Irish & we engaged her in conversation about all things Ireland. She was so pleasant & checked on us frequently. I had the fried whitefish Sammy w fries. Pretty good with the fresh pickles & mayo. My friends jumped in on the bottomless mimosa deal. Both enjoyed their food dishes as well. Overall, a very nice experience. The only negative would be the 3% credit card processing fee. Is that a new thing in Chicago? I asked about it & I didn't really understand the explanation, only that it was their policy. It's bad enough we pay a huge sales tax in this town but then an additional 3% for using a debit card? I guess I should've carried cash.
I moved to Chicago a few weeks ago and after a long drive and unpacking, all I wanted was a burger, a beer and a game. When I walked I got that and so much more. I was welcomed as if I was a regular and by the time I left I was full and with friends. What I will tell you is that the food is fantastic and the service is amazing. The atmosphere is on point and if you've got a date or party you wanna impress, definitely do the back patio. Oh...and the Happy Hour is one of the best in Andersonville! Lasts from 4-6. Anyway, I love the place. I think you will too.
This place is a blast, We always have so much fun when we come here. Great service and great food. What else is there to ask for... Little gem in the area
Came by for dinner with some friends and sat on the back patio. I ordered the fried fish sandwich which comes with a good portion of fries. I liked the tartar sauce and the fluffy potato bun. Nice service and laid-back ambience on the back patio. My friends food orders all looked great. They also offer happy hour and breakfast/brunch offerings. I'd come back for the nice covered patio, good food, and chill environment.
We came here to try the dinner menu after hanging at the Hopleaf for drinks. The space itself is cute and the patio is very nice. I could definitely see myself there on a warm day, but we were seated inside. While it was not crowded, we had made a reservation anyway as it was a Friday and you never know what the crowd situation will be. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we were seated in a window seat, which was nice. We started out with drinks. The Queen got the Papa Don't Peach (peach vodka, ginger peach iced tea, simple syrup, lemon juice). I had a sip, and it was pretty tasty, followed up by the T.G.I. Sangria (House red & white wine, brandy, brown sugar, seasonal fruit). At $13/14 a pop, both are on the happy hour menu so I would definitely chose those options next time, so said The Queen also. We started with the meatballs (beef meatballs, parmesan, Italian gravy, grilled bread). This was a great starter, very favorable. The grilled bread was a nice addition. I actually saved them to have with the Bolognese I ordered as a main course (beef bolognese, tagliatelle pasta, shaved parmesan). The meatballs are a great companion side with this dish, highly recommend it. The Queen got the Breakfast Mac and Cheese, The Doctor got the Three Bean Midwestern Chili (turkey, hominy, cheddar, green onions, pickled chilis, sour cream, house biscuit crumbles). They both enjoyed their dishes, with The Queen taking hers home to have for breakfast the next day. If I had known about the happy hour, would have done that. I would like to go back and explore the happy hour menu as this concept is my second favorite food group after brunch. They do offer a selection of different sandwiches and appetizers as well as a good deal on the drinks side of things. Our server Katie was very lovely and on top of things. She made sure we were taken care of throughout our meal.
Wonderful back patio and incredible chicken sandwich!! Will definitely be back! They have a good selection of beers as well
Popped in here on a Sunday around 4pm with a friend and am super glad I did! Not only did they have an amazing happy hour (trust me, these prices practically reflect pre-COVID and pre-inflation prices), but the service, food, and ambiance was great! I also got a cocktail and it was only $6.50 during happy hour! Our server was really really nice and being able to sit in the back patio made it even better. I had fries and buffalo cauliflower, and my friend had the bbq wings. Everything tasted great, and it's good to know this option exists in the area! I'll definitely be returning!
We are moving into the area and were wanting to find a yummy local happy hour spot for food and drinks. This newer spot came up on our list, so we decided to give it a try and LOVED it! First of all, the space is fun, inviting, clean, and welcoming. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We also learned reservations are possible, so we are noting that for next time. We went early enough that seating wasn't a problem. Second, the happy hour drink list has everything you need at a great price. My husband got a reduced priced local IPA and I got a hearty glass of Sauvignon Blanc for $6.50. Yum and yay! Third, the happy hour food was delicious! We both got sandwiches from the happy hour list and LOVED them! My burger was decadent and deliciously grilled. My husband loved the spicy fresh buffalo chicken sandwich. He even thought the bun was tasty! Since it is a la cart, we both got a side of parmesan fries and we HIGHLY recommend. So luxurious and flavorful...yum! We walked away pleased, full, and without a big dent in our wallets! Win win win! If you haven't been to Land & Lakes, we highly recommend checking it out right away, especially during Monday-Friday 4-6pm happy hour!
